Relationships should be a safe haven. A place of comfort and love. However, many of us get caught up with narcissists who inhibit our world and damage our soul. Dealing and healing from a narcissist is not something many of us expect to have to do. Yet, it is something that many mothers find themselves struggling to cope with.
A narcissist comes highly disguised. Composed and charming, they often leave us feeling empty and destroyed after a high of love bombing. This cycle of abuse is a widely-studied theory of how narcissists exert control and power over the lives of many. And one of the goals of Rock Star Mums is to educate mothers about this cycle and how you can learn to manage and stand up to it.
Relationships with Narcissists
Relationships stem from mutual respect and care. But we know that narcissists are incapable of reciprocating the affections and emotions we put out to them. They are not capable of loving you for who you are. Neither are they coherent about their abusive ways. In their eyes, their love for you surpasses all. And it is you who must give in for the relationship to work.
What makes it worse is trying to end an abusive relationship. Leaving a relationships is hard enough. Escaping the claws of a narcissist is even harder. When you have children involved, it becomes more difficult to walk away.
We have read many books on narcissists. This one is one of the many that offers insightful information about being trapped in an unhealthy marriage. It explains how this drains and exhausts you. What we liked most is that it recounts experiences of dealing with a narcissist. And it provides that first-hand comfort that we all need to know that we are not alone.

Dealing and Healing from a Narcissist
The book gives you the truth. The whole truth. And nothing but the truth.
When leaving an abusive relationship, you need to be guided by the correct tools and information. You can gain quite a perspective from reading Dealing and Healing from a Narcissist. However, word of caution. It does not provide as much depth of situational consequences that we would like it to have so we can understand the abuse cycle better.
What it does give you is a good take-away of how to manage and deal with a narcissist. Also, it is good to gain perspective from a different view that comprises experience and knowledge into narcissistic abuse. It’s definitely worth reading.
