Hear My Prayer – The Serenity Prayer

A very special person gave me this chocolate hand in a prayer position on the Serenity Prayer. On the inside, a beautiful note that spoke the words of comfort, motivation, and hope.

Life is not always tough. Yet, it is not always easy. We experience good times. And, we get through bad times. Our days can have laughter. It can also have tears.

There are times when I feel like it is completely impossible to keep moving forward. There are times when I raise my voice at the kids when really, I was just angry with myself. Other times, the immense sadness overwhelms my motherhood capabilities, and I feel like giving up.

Parenting is not easy. Single parenting is a million times harder. But we are never given a load heavier than we can carry. And we are never truly alone no matter how dark this road might seem. The Serenity Prayer reminds me of this. That even in the darkest of times, we are capable of finding the light. And if not, then we can be one.

While the chocolate was devoured within seconds by the little ones, the prayer still sits on my corner shelf in the bedroom, offering the same support and comfort each time I need it.

You don’t have to be of any particular religious group to say this prayer. Nor do you have to be of any religious affiliation.

God protects even those who do not believe.

Have faith. Stay strong.

He has not failed you before. He is not going to right now…
