Review: How to talk so kids will listen & listen so kids will talk

We at Rock Star Mums reviewed How to talk so kids will listen & listen so kids will talk. And here is what we think!

If you are looking for some way of getting your child to open up, this is for you. It’s amazing what a little guidance can do for our children and we absolutely loved this one.

Our children are just little adults caught inside little bodies.

There will always be a time when our children need something. And unfortunately we cannot always give them what they want. Then comes the times when we want them to tell us what they need, and they close off, refusing to speak. Sigh… the irony of parenting.

Many mothers sit around wondering of ways to find out how our children feel. We often ponder about what we are doing wrong. Or maybe we are missing something. After all, we want to give our children the best but how is that possible when they do not tell us how they feel.

Divorces lead to complicated situations with children. Children grow weary of trusting adults. They are often caught in the middle of the battle between daddy and mommy. Many times, they are confused.

When they begin to bottle up their feelings or worse, explode like volcanoes, we get worried.

How to talk so kids will listen & listen so kids will talk

How to talk so kids will listenDid we already say we love this book?

This book is utterly amazing. The tips, exercises, and guides worked wonders on our children and are highly efficient. It’s often not the case of us not being good enough, kids sometimes just do not listen (or talk)!

This parenting bible provides the tools you need to cope with your children’s emotions such as anger, disappointment, lack of self esteem, and so on. It gives many alternatives to punishment (we’re all guilty of that!) and helps parents understand the ways we can help our children. We especially like the part about family conflicts and how kids are often torn apart by them.

Overall a great book and well worth the price!
