Brooke Nicole, Empowering Single Mothers

Brooke Nicole is a Single Mom Empowerment Coach. Not only does she help single mothers transform their lives, she has also personally witnessed and experienced the struggles that single mothers endeavor in their daily lives.

You can say that Brooke has been there, done that. But her story is all too familiar to many of us and we have picked apart the inspiring bits to help you on your journey.

Empowering Single Mother

Who is Brooke Nicole?

Brooke is a single mother to two children, an 8-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, and is thriving in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles, CA. Her passion to help single mothers live their best lives stemmed from her very own life. After living in heartache, guilt, and shame, she once thought she would never be able to pull herself out. The darkness she experienced is similar to what many of us have been through or are currently going through.

Yet, Brooke found the strength to overcome not one, but two devastating relationships. And is now thriving more than ever. Her inspiration to guide women to finding this internal freedom is truly motivating.

Read her story in her very own words.

What was rock bottom for you when you became a single mom?

Brooke: After I split with my ex-husband, I was at such a low point and was craving love so much that I attracted a partner that was more toxic than my relationship. I would say the two years with chaos in that relationship was the start of my rock bottom. And then when we broke up, all shit hit the fan!

I was so broken from two toxic relationships feeling empty and shamefully for the woman I became.

I had an inner knowing that I needed to fall in love with me and heal my wounds because I was so tired of feeling worthless.

What is the one value or lesson you can take away from becoming a single mom?

Brooke: We are fucking ROCKSTARS!! Single Moms are the strongest women I know. I don’t think we realize how much we do all the time because it becomes such routine. But DANG we do a lot so have compassion for yourself and make sure to make some of that time for yourself as well.

What about juggling work and kids, and now homeschooling?

Brooke: Breathe, it is okay, everything will get accomplished, stressing about lack of time isn’t going to create more of it. Just prioritize your time. It’s okay to say no. (You don’t need to do everything).

What is your advice for mothers who are looking at dating right after their divorce/breakup?

Brooke: My advice for someone looking to date after a divorce or break up is to just NOT! You will attract a partner who is not emotionally available because YOU are not emotionally available. It won’t be fair to him, your kids, or to yourself.

A man will not heal your heart. It may feel temporarily healed but in reality, it is being suppressed, and will manifest in other areas of your life. Take the time to heal and reflect on your last relationship. Heal the parts of you that you want to hide from. Reflect on the lessons you’ve learned in your last relationship, so you don’t bring those fears and patterns into your next relationship.

Love will come to you when you are emotionally ready. Don’t force yourself to find someone out of the fear of being alone, or to distract yourself from the pain.

Can you give us three tips to moms looking at transforming their lives?

Brooke:

  1.  Show up for yourself every day! (meditate, journal, self-care, dance, eat clean plant-based foods, exercise, etc… Ask yourself, what you need, honor that)
  2. Have compassion for yourself (Change your self-talk)
  3. Have gratitude for it all, embrace your story, and understand that it happened FOR you.

What do you think is the one thing that holds all single moms back from living their best lives?

Brooke: The one thing holding single moms back from living their best lives is that they are stuck replaying their story and cannot truly find acceptance, forgiveness and let it go.

Any advice for other single moms?

Brooke: You have a story, unique to you. Accept, Forgive, Let go. Live Free.

It is not selfish to care for your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well being. By doing so you will show up as a better mom and an overall better human!!
